The Cantillon Brewery Gueuze Museum

Week 38

Picture-wise we are still in Brussels this week, with souvenirs from my recent trip around the Cantillon Brewery-Museum. A fascinating array of brewing kit, although personally the resulting brew wouldn’t be my favourite beer. However, there were lots of people looking around, which was great to see. As to the brewing book, now fixing up a couple of visits in the next few weeks, to Lewes and to the National Brewery Centre (and possibly Hook Norton). My filing cabinet is bulging with the requisite multiple copies of all the illustration permissions, but I am really pleased with the quality and range of photos/plans/ephemera and so forth. It is possible to write quickly, but not to acquire illustrations quickly – a couple I finalised yesterday had both taken four to five months to track down and negotiate. So, back to the text…..
